Once you’re ready for selecting the furniture, the foundation of your baby’s room has already been laid. With the right floor, window covering, paint or wallpaper, it becomes easier to find suitable furniture. Do you like cool or romantic? Do you prefer dark or light? Have you fallen for the country style or just elements of it? There’s a suitable design for every baby’s room, because cribs are available in many designs and colours. Are you going for a crib in 60×120 cm. or do you choose an extra large format of 70×140 cm.? The extra large crib, or cotbed, can be converted into a toddler bed. When your child is big enough and can get in and out of the bed by itself, remove the lowest side of the bed bench. Your toddler still sleeps in his own bed, which makes this switch a little less exciting.

Sleepytroll Bed Rocker Feet
For the first few months, your little one will sleep in a bassinet or co-sleeper in your room. You immediately reassure your baby when it cries and you don’t have to get out of bed for the night feed. When your little one moves to their own room, depends on what you like. This usually happens after 6 months, so the baby’s room must be ready for use. The most important piece of furniture is the crib. In this warm nest, your baby will sleep for the next 24-36 months. The crib is the place where your baby’s biggest dreams come true. But… what does the crib of your dreams look like?
Buying a crib
Once you’re ready for selecting the furniture, the foundation of your baby’s room has already been laid. With the right floor, window covering, paint or wallpaper, it becomes easier to buy suitable furniture. Do you like cool or romantic? Do you prefer dark or light? Have you fallen for the country style or just elements of it? There’s a suitable design for every baby’s room, because cribs are available in many designs and colours. Neutral tones and simple shapes come into their own in a pronounced nursery. For example, there are various complete baby rooms where the furniture is coordinated with each other. This creates peace and unity. In a quiet baby room it is possible to play more with colour and unusual shapes. The furniture does not have to be from the same series to balance the room.
Crib sizes
Are you going for a crib in 60×120 cm. or do you choose an extra large format of 70×140 cm.? The extra large crib, or cotbed, can be converted into a toddler bed. When your child is big enough and can get in and out of the bed by itself, remove the lowest side of the bed bench. Your toddler still sleeps in his own bed, which makes this switch a little less exciting.
Where to place the crib?
When decorating the baby’s room, it is useful to first place the basic furniture. Walk around the room and think about a practical layout once your baby has arrived. Never place the crib next to a (hot) heater or a socket where cables protrude. Your child is in a draft right next to the window or there are even other dangers as soon as your child starts climbing… It is nice to place the crib close to the changing table, because you use it before and after sleeping. Choose the desired mattress and cot sheets and blankets to style the whole. A music mobile above the bed helps your child calm down and fall asleep peacefully. Just a little while before your mini is dreaming away here…
